About Us

Turning Pointe originated in 2000, and the shelter building was built in 2007. Over the years, our services have expanded in a variety of ways. All of our services are free and confidential. This includes; support groups, emergency shelter, referrals, safety planning, hotel vouchers, a 24-hour crisis line, general advocacy, mobile advocacy, youth programs, housing assistance, legal clinic referrals, and more.

The vision of Turning Pointe is to “create a world free of sexual and domestic violence”.  We work towards this goal in a variety of ways: by advocating for our clients, providing a safe place to escape immediate danger, educating the community about prevention, and partnering with other service providers to ensure clients have the resources they need to be independent. We operate a 56-bed, pet-friendly shelter in Shelton serving women and children. Aside from staying at the shelter, men receive all the same services and hotel vouchers when in need of emergency shelter. Additionally, we operate a satellite office in Belfair. We serve clients all over Washington and beyond.
